Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN is responsible for monitoring patient health, administering basic medical care, updating patient records, and assisting patients with daily activities. This role requires compassion, clinical knowledge, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report changes to appropriate personnel
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and catheterizations
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in electronic medical records
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and eating
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on care instructions and health maintenance
- Ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and facility policies
