Job Summary:
The Tire Technician will be responsible for mounting, balancing, and repairing tires for a variety of vehicles. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tire Installation & Maintenance: Mount, balance, and install tires on a wide range of vehicles including cars, trucks, and SUVs.
- Tire Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and repair damaged tires, including patching, plugging, and other necessary repairs.
- Wheel Alignment & Balancing: Conduct wheel alignments and balance tires to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers to explain services provided, answer questions, and recommend necessary services.
- Safety & Quality: Follow safety protocols at all times and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Ensure all services meet company standards.
- Inventory Management: Assist with tire inventory, ensuring that stock levels are accurate and notifying management when orders need to be placed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for tire-changing equipment, ensuring it remains in good working order.
- Additional Duties: Perform other automotive maintenance tasks as assigned by the service manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience as a tire technician or in a similar automotive service role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using tire-changing equipment, including tire changers, balancing machines, and alignment tools.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and tire safety standards.
- Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain services clearly and professionally to customers.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy tires, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Certification (Preferred but not required): Tire Technician Certification (such as from the Tire Industry Association) is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
