The Service Team is the focal point for our Customers’ experience with certifications, repairs, and upgrades. The RMA Repair Technician is an entry-level to mid-level role, physically located in Pearl, MS at Radian Research’s WECO location reporting to the Manager – Customer Service and Support. This position performs:
- unit calibrations, troubleshooting, testing, and repairs, and completes associated documentation for customer returned units in coordination with the Electronics Technician.
- hardware, firmware, and software verification and validation testing as assigned by Engineering, Software, Service, and Production teams.
- Shipping and Receiving, with primary focus on RMAs. This responsibility includes receiving RMAs and materials, shipping RMAs and packages as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and/or mechanical repairs on customer returned product as directed by the Electronics Technician. Perform electrical testing as required on customer returned product, either complete units or subcomponents, as directed by the Electronics Technician. Assemble and disassemble customer returned product as directed by the Electronics Technician.
- Perform testing and standard calibrations for customer returned units which require only calibration service using specialized electronic test and calibration equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing and calibrations for customer returned units which require repair and calibration services using general and specialized electronic test and calibration equipment.
- Follow standard inspection, test, troubleshooting, calibration and measurement processes.
- Complete and maintain associated records of inspections, tests, repairs, and calibrations in both paper and electronic form.
- Monitor and analyze customer repairs to identify common failure mechanisms and communicate to management and the Quality Manager, as appropriate.
- Perform Quality Assurance Testing on complete repair.
- Perform Shipping and Receiving functions with primary focus on RMAs.

Education:
Minimum Required: Technical Certificate or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics Technology or equivalent military ‘electronics technician’ training.
A minimum 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Experience:
- 1-2 years in manufacturing operations
- 1 years in electro-mechanical troubleshooting
- 1 years in electronic test equipment usage
Knowledge of:
- Electricity/Electronics applications
- Awareness of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage prevention in electronics
- Problem solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis
- Troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices
- General metrology, measurement systems, and calibration systems
- Software and software applications
- Computer usage and common word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Radian Research manufacturing operations
- Safety in job performance
Skilled at:
- Soldering
- Electro-mechanical assembly operations
- ESD awareness and damage prevention
- Reading and interpreting schematics
- Use of electronic test equipment – VOM, signal generator, etc.
- Use of specialized electronic calibration equipment – calibration systems and environmental chambers, oscilloscopes, etc.
