What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Systems Administrator position at Radiance Technologies?
The primary duty is to serve as a Principal Systems Administrator for the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) enterprise network located at the Redstone Arsenal location, providing direct onsite support to the internal DREN Network enclave. The Principal Systems Administrator essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Build and maintain Virtual Machines with Microsoft and VMWare technologies.
- Design and Configuration of the Active Directory and Windows Server environment.
- Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, and email systems.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage physical and virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Perform server administration tasks in a mixed environment, including user/group management, file permissions, group policy, file replication, and resource monitoring.
- Maintain, deploy, and support internal infrastructure, including client computer systems, servers, switches, routers, and ASAs.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance, patches, and upgrades of computer systems
- Building and maintaining Windows system images using MDT.
- Work directly with IA staff to identify and resolve vulnerabilities with ACAS
- Support and maintain SecDevOps infrastructure in support of software development teams and the continuous deployment pipeline.
- Provide help desk and IT support.
- Additional duties assigned based on changes to business needs.

- Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 15 years’ experience in Information Technology, including cyber/information assurance and/or systems administration of servers and workstations.
- Strong understanding of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units
- Experience providing desktop, server and VM support with VMware products with Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with Windows Server and VMware applications such as Vsphere/ESXi, Horizon Client
- Experience maintaining IT networks (Cisco routers, switches, maintaining network connections, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM and deployment images.
- Experience with STIG management.
- Experience supporting Microsoft’s Azure DevOps Server or similar software development and tracking database is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- CompTia Security certification
- Windows Operating System certification (within 90 days)
- Working knowledge of government Cyber Security policies and procedures including system scans, remediation, and documentation
- Experience and understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), security controls and policies, and implementation of STIGs
- Experience scripting for automation of tasks and vulnerability assessments
- an active TS/SCI clearance is desired.
