Title: Machinist II

Duration: 12 Month
Position Purpose:
Assists in maintaining plant production by making repairs within scope of expertise. Interprets and follows through on work orders following various safe work procedures.
Makes mechanical repairs on plant equipment and performs preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis. Learns to identify equipment malfunctions and repair before catastrophic failure.
Begins to develop expertise in a specialized skill.
Operates manual machining equipment or machine shop (Lathes and Mills).
Interacts with peers, supervisor, and internal / external customers May work on special projects with peers from other work groups
Ability to read and interpret routine instructions Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (Mfg) Sets up, monitors and operates various pieces of equipment associated with the manufacturing facility requirements (Mfg)
May operate multiple machines simultaneously(Mfg) May perform quality assurance activities as required by manufacturing/engineering specifications and ISO requirements
Business case justification: Volume Increase and backfill position
Special Equipment Required: Hard Steel Boots and safety glasses
