Objective:

Radiant’s Data Engineers are key contributors to shaping data architecture and providing actionable insights by leveraging advanced statistical, algorithmic, and visualization techniques with cutting-edge tools. The Data Engineer will drive data engineering efforts, focusing on designing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring compliance with data governance and security standards, and empowering business units with data-driven decision-making.

This role combines technical acumen with creativity, as the Data Engineer will be instrumental in modernizing data infrastructure and promoting best data practices across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Build & Optimize Data Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines, ensuring smooth data flow from sources to integration points for consumption by analytics and business users. Prioritize automation and optimization to reduce manual processes increase efficiency.
  • Data Warehouse & Repository Management: Build and manage data repositories such as data warehouses and lakes, supporting business needs by creating data models, managing schemas, and ensuring consistency and accuracy across various data sets.
  • Automation & Metadata Management: Leverage innovative tools to automate repetitive data task and improve the productivity of the data engineer process. Focus on intelligent metadata management to streamline integration, improve quality and reduce errors.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Serve as the primary interface between technical teams and business data owners. Work closely with business analysts, IT experts, and subject matter experts to understand data requirements and create solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Data Governance & Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and privacy standards, particularly in regulated environments. Work closely with governance teams to implement certifications and ensure compliance with internal and external data regulations.
  • Create & Manage Expert Dashboards: Design and build dynamic, real-time dashboards using visualization tools that enable business users to access actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Data Science & AI Integration: Collaborate with data scientists and analytics teams to optimize and operationalize data science models and algorithms, integrating them into business processes.
  • Evangelize Data Management Best Practices: Act as a champion for data governance, best practices in data management, and the effective use of data across the organization. Foster a culture of data literacy by educating teams about data tools and techniques.
  • Support Proof of Concepts (POCs): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and refine proof-of-concept models for new data tools, platforms, or methodologies.

 

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Work Experience: At least 6 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, and analytics solutions, including 3 years working with cross-functional teams and delivering data management solutions.
  • Data Architecture Expertise: Extensive experience working with data management frameworks such as Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Data Hubs, and supporting processes (e.g., data integration, metadata management, governance).
  • Data Pipeline Development: Strong proficiency in designing and building data pipelines, including data transformation, modeling, schema management, and optimization techniques using tools like ETL, ELT, CDC, API integrations, and stream data technologies.
  • Data Governance & Security: Experience working with data governance, quality, and security teams to ensure adherence to best practices and compliance standards.
  • Advanced Database Knowledge: Proficiency with relational (SQL, PL/SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) database management systems. Experience with advanced database optimization and query performance tuning.
  • Analytics & Machine Learning: Experience with data science tools (R, Python, Scala) and familiarity with machine learning model integration. Ability to work with data scientists to optimize and scale models.
  • Automation Skills: Experience automating data pipeline development using tools like Airflow, Jenkins, Ansible, and Git, and familiarity with DevOps/DataOps methodologies for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional departments to deliver data solutions. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Environments: Familiarity with cloud-based and on-premises data architectures, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with BI Tools: Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik) for data discovery.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, on-office position (minimum 8 hours per day).
  • Flexibility to complete all required job duties while ensuring responsibilities are covered during absences.

Physical Requirements:

Salary Range: $140,000 - $1800,000 (Annual Salary) *

* Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to an individual’s education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
