JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Radiant Medical Staffing. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing respiratory care to patients of all ages. Your role will involve working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care in a variety of settings, including homes, clinics, and facilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering patient-focused care and has a commitment to improving respiratory health.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess patients’ respiratory needs through physical examination, interviews, and diagnostic tests (such as spirometry and blood gas analysis).
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment plans, and proper use of medical equipment.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical observations and physician directives.
- Ensure all respiratory equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and calibrated.
- Document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide emergency care for respiratory distress, including intubation or resuscitation as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in respiratory therapy and participate in continuing education as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) certification and licensure in OR/WA/MT or ID.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in home care or outpatient settings.
- Knowledge of various respiratory therapies, ventilators, oxygen devices, and related equipment.
- Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions in home and facility settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including some evenings or weekends if needed.
