ROLE SUMMARY:
Radiation Oncology Associates, an independently owned private practice, is seeking a Front Desk Patient Services Specialist to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The successful candidate is responsible for providing administrative and general support to staff, patients, and physicians in a fast paced, outpatient clinical environment. To ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient administration service is consistently provided to patients, this role requires multitasking, time management, and task prioritization. This role is a crucial link between the patients and clinical teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Patient Services Specialist, you will ensure that a high level of patient support and service is provided by anticipating needs, maintaining patient care expectations, reacting to feedback, and working with a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will maintain a professional and engaging approach to meet the patient’s needs.
- Registering new patients and ensuring the accuracy of personal and billing detail in ARIA EMR and Intergy.
- Scanning and faxing records as appropriate.
- Collecting and documenting copays utilizing Waystar.
- Provide and track gas cards for oncology patients.
- Verifying Medicaid eligibility.
- Assist with scheduling patient follow-ups.
- Monitoring the flow of patients and directing as appropriate.
- Answering and attending to all telephone calls in a timely manner.
- Responding to queries in accordance with the HIPAA privacy policy.
- Having a breadth of service knowledge to respond to patient queries.
- Providing support to Physicians and other staff, as required
- Maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee-facing spaces, restocking supplies, and organization.
- Interacting and directing vendors and visitors as they come and ensuring compliance to sign in protocols.
- General administrative duties.
- Any other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIEMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability in an administrative role with a busy, customer focused environment, medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of patient billing systems and related mechanisms.
- Ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office software. Attention to detail and accuracy. ·
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
