ROLE SUMMARY:

Radiation Oncology Associates, an independently owned private practice, is seeking a Patient Scheduler to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The successful candidate is responsible for efficiently, and correctly, scheduling appointments and procedures as well as canceling appointments, scheduling referral appointments, and verifying patients’ demographical information in a fast past, outpatient clinical environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Radiation Oncology Patient Scheduler, you will ensure that a high level of patient support and service is provided by anticipating needs, maintaining patient care expectations, reacting to feedback, and working with a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will maintain a professional and engaging approach while building and maintaining referring offices relationships.

· Schedule outside appointments for MRI/CT/Mammograms, etc.

· Scanning and faxing records as appropriate.

· Scheduling new patient consults and ensuring the accuracy of personal and billing detail in ARIA EMR and Intergy

· Coordinating OR time with hospital for high dose radiation patients

· Communicating with Nuclear Medicine to schedule oncology treatment

· Scheduling follow up appointments

· Appointment reminder calls

· Fax/Scan orders

· Collect copays

· Answering and attending to telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.

· Responding to queries in accordance with the HIPAA privacy policy.

· Having a breadth of service knowledge to respond to patient queries.

· Providing support to Physicians and other staff, as required

· Assist with other front desk duties as needed and any other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIEMENTS:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Demonstrated ability in an administrative role with a busy, patient focused environment, medical office experience required

· Knowledge of medical office scheduling and related mechanisms

· Ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office software

· Attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50/hr

Expected hours: 40 per week
