What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at RADICAL COSMETICS, LLC?
The Laboratory Assistant at Radical Cosmetics is responsible for testing, organizing and sampling incoming raw materials for quality control. They also maintain lab sample records and conduct various duties that support the manufacturing operations. Lab Technicians can be expected to work independently, but closely with other departments to ensure correct daily quality testing of samples and raw ingredients.
Functions:
- Manage “day to day” projects assigned by Jr. Chemist/Sr. Chemist, Lab Manager, based on product briefs and development requests.
- Identify solutions for formulations problems such as instability, texture, playoff, and color matching.
- Keep time schedule for submissions to marketing, customer service, formula evaluation, stability, safety testing, including preparing and labeling samples for analysis, etc.
- Recording and maintaining accurate laboratory records, including experimental data and results.
- Perform routine analytical and physical tests.
- Communicate timing, feasibility and project related aspects with Chemist/Sr. Chemist, Lab Manager.
- Following laboratory safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in pilot or manufacturing operation, when needed.
- Assisting in the ordering and inventory of laboratory materials and supplies.
- Cleaning and maintaining laboratory machines, workstation, desk.
- Interface with suppliers.
- Ensure that customers, expectations are met/exceeded.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by Chemist/Sr. Chemist, Lab Manager, RND Director
- Responsible, beneficial contributions for a successful RND department.
Education
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalence in science related field or Certification or courses in area of expertise
and/or
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant (bench) experience in Color Cosmetics, Skin/Hair Care formulation or combination of experience and relevant education.
