Position Summary
As an Electronic Engineer Technician, you will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and test various electronic systems and equipment. This role will require travel to customer locations depending on the demands of projects set which may include installations, as well as training personnel on various mobile audio/video and surveillance equipment such as: digital video recorders, cameras, monitors, radios, and amplifiers. We are seeking a hands-on problem solver with strong technical and customer service skills.
- Engineering prototype creation, testing, and reporting
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manuals for troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic malfunctions in the field and the manufacturing plant
- Conduct on-site installations and provide technical support to customers on system operations
- Provide training on mobile audio/visual, surveillance, and communications equipment
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and updates electronic equipment
- Document service reports, findings, and recommendations
- Tests all repairs to a documented standard
- Other duties assigned as necessary
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Proficient soldering skills and usage of power hand tools
- Basic networking and software diagnostics skills, understanding TCP/IP, digital theory, and wireless experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in electronic troubleshooting, repair, or field service
- Proficient with standard testing equipment including electronic circuits, digital multi-meters, and oscilloscopes
- Previous experience with installation and repair of industrial or commercial electronic systems
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively
