Job Description
Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Location: Women's Imaging Center
Division/Dept.: RIS & LRH IMAGING
Reports To: Office Supervisor
Type of Shift: Full Time
The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of mammography procedures in an outpatient setting while
maintaining a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the Mammography
Technologist include performing mammography procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist
and demonstrating compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
that the radiologist and patient sign the consent forms. Properly labels the specimen containers and fills out any
necessary paperwork accurately.
2 or more years in the Mammography field is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists.
Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida
Skills/Physical Requirements
Department of Health. Additional mammography certification is required.
Bilingual English/Spanish Speaking Skills Are Preferred.
Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems,
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public.
This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or
without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting
50 plus pounds.

The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of mammography procedures in an outpatient setting while
maintaining a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the Mammography
Technologist include performing mammography procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist
and demonstrating compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs mammography exams following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently performs
- Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring
- Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes
- Assists the radiologist during breast biopsies while following OSHA and universal precautions. Reviews all consent
that the radiologist and patient sign the consent forms. Properly labels the specimen containers and fills out any
necessary paperwork accurately.
- Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any
- Performs Bone Densities and any other duties as assigned.
- Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. Promotes
- Maintains credentials for position.
