Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET / CT)

Location : Palm Coast, FL

General Summary of Duties :

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing Nuclear Medicine and PET / CT procedures to provide high-quality diagnostic images. This role involves operating a variety of technical equipment, maintaining safety standards, and delivering excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform a variety of technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies, using radiation detection and imaging equipment.
  • Calibrate and prepare radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients, ensuring proper handling and safety.
  • Process and evaluate recorded images for technical quality, including reconstructed SPECT and PET / CT images.
  • Assume responsibility for the physical and psychological care of patients during examinations.
  • Maintain accurate records concerning radiopharmaceutical activities, including receipt, dispensing, and disposal.
  • Conduct daily and weekly quality assurance checks on equipment, including wipe testing and survey procedures.
  • Provide technical instruction and guidance to radiologic technology students and other advanced imaging techs.
  • Ensure compliance with radioactive materials licensure and safety requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Graduate of an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine technology.
  • Experience : Minimum of one year in nuclear medicine preferred. Completion of 16 hours of training in PET / CT (as required by the State of Florida).
  • Licensure / Certifications :
  • Licensed by the State of Florida

  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge & Skills :
  • Technical proficiency in nuclear medicine procedures.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety and protection for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Ability to perform IV placement and manage patient care during procedures.
  • Experience with PACS and computer systems for image processing and submission.
  • Familiarity with emergency response procedures (AED, crash cart, oxygen tank).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain procedures to patients.
