General Summary of Duties :
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing Nuclear Medicine and PET / CT procedures to provide high-quality diagnostic images. This role involves operating a variety of technical equipment, maintaining safety standards, and delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform a variety of technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies, using radiation detection and imaging equipment.
- Calibrate and prepare radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients, ensuring proper handling and safety.
- Process and evaluate recorded images for technical quality, including reconstructed SPECT and PET / CT images.
- Assume responsibility for the physical and psychological care of patients during examinations.
- Maintain accurate records concerning radiopharmaceutical activities, including receipt, dispensing, and disposal.
- Conduct daily and weekly quality assurance checks on equipment, including wipe testing and survey procedures.
- Provide technical instruction and guidance to radiologic technology students and other advanced imaging techs.
- Ensure compliance with radioactive materials licensure and safety requirements.
Qualifications :
Licensed by the State of Florida
Technical proficiency in nuclear medicine procedures.
