General Summary of Duties:
Capable of working independently in a fast-paced dynamic outpatient imaging center. Must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of X-ray and Dexa imaging, radiation safety and related patient care. A candidate for this position will be available to work daytime shifts Monday through Friday.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds including the elderly population
- Extensive knowledge of X-ray imaging and Dexa procedures and protocols
- Ability to learn and grow with new technology
- Customer service skills
- CPR certification
- ARRT registered technologist
- Florida State Licensure
- Minimum 1 year related experience
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior X-ray and Dexa experience
- General computer and PACS knowledge
Certifications & Licensure:
Licensed in the State of Florida and ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)).
BLS Certification.
Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency in X-Ray and Dexa procedures and protocols.
Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
Experience with radiologic equipment, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of radiation safety and protection for staff, patients, and visitors.
Proficient in using computer systems for image processing and submitting images for interpretation.
Knowledge of emergency response procedures, including AED, crash cart, and oxygen tank usage.
Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively within the department and with patients and their families.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to explain procedures to patients in a clear, patient, and professional manner.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Requires a full range of motion and the ability to lift/carry/move items up to 50 pounds.
Requires the ability to position patients and maintain focus during imaging procedures.
Requires corrected 20/20 vision.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Medical office, X-Ray/Dexa, and treatment rooms.
Exposure to radiation, needles, and communicable diseases.
Work location may vary between sites.
