Position : X-Ray Tech
Location : Deltona - New Smyrna - Port Orange Area
Type : PRN (As Needed)
What you’ll get to do :
- Greet patients and families with a pleasant and helpful demeanor, provide clear instructions on procedures, and answer patient inquiries.
- Schedule patients for procedures and assist with clerical functions.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated anatomical areas of interest. Adjust equipment for proper exposure according to radiation safety guidelines.
- Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures, special radiographic procedures, and bone density exams (DEXA).
- Prepare and dispense contrast media and barium.
- Ensure equipment is in working order and report malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Evaluate studies for technical quality, collate processed images in proper order, and appropriately label them.
- Process related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
- Follow safety standards and use radiation protection when operating imaging equipment.
- Provide orientation and training to new technologists and student technologists.
- Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for all studies.
- Must be able to lift / carry / move items weighing up to 50 pounds and assist in patient positioning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
