Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is comprised of over 115 radiologists. All with exceptional skill and expertise, most are fellowship-trained in their field of specialty for additional certification. We are dedicated to accurate and efficient patient diagnosis no matter their condition. Our interventional radiologists perform some of the most leading-edge treatments available today. We partner with primary care physicians and hospitals across Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, and Hawaii to provide a resource for both patients and physicians.

The Business Operations Lead for RIA Endovascular supports effective financial, business operations, and revenue cycle functions for the department. The Business Operations Lead coordinates cost-savings initiatives and optimizes revenue cycle by providing hands-on leadership in pre-service workflows and business operations. This role plays a key part in the implementation and optimization of the organization's electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring that revenue cycle processes — including authorizations, CPT alignment, point-of-service collections, and documentation standards — are effectively integrated.

In addition to front-end and workflow oversight, the Business Operations Lead is responsible for managing business functions such as expense tracking, vendor coordination, inventory management, and administrative process improvement. The individual in this role will supervise one Authorization Representative and act as a central point of coordination between clinical, administrative, and financial teams to support operational excellence and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

EHR Implementation & Workflow Optimization

  • Act as RCM’s lead representative for EHR-related business operations and workflow configuration
  • Coordinate with EHR vendors and internal stakeholders to align system setup with RCM needs
  • Support go-live planning, testing, and training efforts focused on front-end and financial workflows

Authorization Oversight

  • Ensure authorizations are obtained accurately and align with scheduled procedures and CPT codes
  • Monitor trends in authorization errors and denial rates, and proactively address root causes
  • Supervise the Authorization Representative and provide ongoing training, oversight, and support

Supply Chain Cost Savings

  • Analyze utilization data for high-cost supplies and procedure types to identify opportunities for savings, reduction in waste, and/or standardization.
  • Coordinate inventory management processes
  • Work with the clinical team to analyze vendor performance, group purchasing, supply utilization, and alternative products to achieve cost savings.

Point-of-Service Collections

  • Evaluate and enhance point-of-service (TOS) collection processes across scheduling and registration teams
  • Collaborate with patient access leadership to implement best practices in scripting and collection techniques
  • Track collection performance and recommend strategies to improve outcomes

Documentation Accuracy & Alignment

  • Identify gaps between clinical documentation, CPT coding, and billing practices
  • Create tools and resources to support proper documentation of billable services
  • Partner with clinical and documentation leads to educate staff on required standards

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Compile and analyze reports related to authorizations, TOS collections, workflow adherence, and expenses
  • Develop tracking tools or dashboards to support ongoing performance improvement
  • Provide regular updates to the clinical team, departmental leadership, and Director of RCM.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 3 years of experience in revenue cycle operations, patient access, or business office functions
  • Understanding of CPT coding, payer authorization requirements, and front-end financial workflows
  • Familiarity with EHR and practice management systems (experience during implementation is a plus)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally across departments
  • Experience managing or coaching staff is preferred
