JOB SUMMARY | ||||||
The Technologist Assistant performs a variety of front and back office duties while maintaining a high | ||||||
level of customer service and quality patient care. | ||||||
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES | ||||||
1. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history in full | ||||||
sentences, performing providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. | ||||||
2. Obtains complete and detailed history to assist the radiologist with diagnosis from each patient. | ||||||
3. Prepares procedure rooms and assists in all procedures as needed, including starting IVs for contrast. | ||||||
4. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Explains | ||||||
the exam to each patient to ensure patient safety and cooperation. | ||||||
5. Comforts patients by anticipating patients' needs, anxieties, and questions. | ||||||
6. Performs clerical duties at Pablo Campus and Central office locations as needed. | ||||||
7. Consults with referring physicians offices by telephone in a concise and courteous manner. | ||||||
8. Burns CDs, and prepares film jackets. Also uploads CDs from outside facilities for comparison as necessary. | ||||||
9. Maintains exam rooms by stocking exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any | ||||||
equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. | ||||||
10. Checks and rechecks the schedules on a daily basis. | ||||||
11. Work in all modalities, and obtain patient history as needed. | ||||||
WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
Two or more years in the Medical Assisting field is preferred. | ||||||
High school diploma or GED. | ||||||
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistance program or certification is preferred. | ||||||
SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and patients, and the ability to | ||||||
work independently. | ||||||
This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or | ||||||
without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting | ||||||
50 plus pounds. |
