JOB SUMMARY | ||||||
The X-Ray Technologist performs a variety of radiologic procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining | ||||||
a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities of the X-ray Technologist include | ||||||
performing routine X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating | ||||||
compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction. | ||||||
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES | ||||||
1. Performs routine X-Ray procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist. Competently | ||||||
performs procedures with limited supervision. | ||||||
2. Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including protocol, patient history, referring | ||||||
providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure. Able to burn CDs per | ||||||
patient request. | ||||||
3. Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Assumes | ||||||
responsibility for patient care, safety, and comfort. | ||||||
4. Takes responsibility to stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains equipment and reports any | ||||||
equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider. | ||||||
5. Floats to various locations as assigned. | ||||||
6. Customer Service; Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner. | ||||||
promotes teamwork by assisting other staff as needed. Words and actions support team improvement. | ||||||
7. Maintains credentials for position. | ||||||
WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
2 or more years in the Radiology field is preferred. | ||||||
High School Diploma or GED. | ||||||
Completion of a course in Radiologic Technology which is approved by the American Registry of Radiologic | ||||||
Technologists. | ||||||
Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Florida | ||||||
Department of Health. | ||||||
SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS | ||||||
Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems, | ||||||
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public. | ||||||
This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching; Must be able to see with or | ||||||
without corrective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly, with or without assistance. This position may require lifting | ||||||
50 plus pounds. |
