Job Description
The Radisson Hotel Colorado Springs is looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician. Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day, the Maintenance Technician performs routine preventative maintenance and repair services for the hotel and facilities. It is the Maintenance Technician’s responsibility to support the Facilities Manager, ensuring the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet RHG standards. Tuesday - Saturday 11AM to 7PM.
Responsibilities
- Determine defects, trouble shoot malfunctions, and take all necessary corrective action all while following specific departmental procedures for guest rooms and basic mechanical equipment. Documents all work performed
- Provide maintenance services for all Hotel and Facility areas including guests' rooms, lobbies, hallways, elevators, bathrooms, fitness rooms, stairwells, game room, hot tub & pool, building entrances/exits, etc.
- Repair all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment, and cosmetic items.
- Structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings; patch or replace plaster/plasterboard; paint walls and ceilings; trim, cut, and lay flooring (linoleum, tile, carpet, etc.
- Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation
- Operate and maintain pool and spa and related equipment
- Conducts oneself with safety in mind and undertakes all job requirements in a manner which will guarantee a safe environment for oneself, guests, and fellow associates
- Available to act in an engineering capacity to protect our guests’ and associates and preserve the building and systems during an emergency. Act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to normal operating status and inform your manager of any such emergencies
- Clean all engineering areas as directed by management. Keep work areas neat and orderly
- Ensure all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order; follow-up on any items that may be on back order
- Complete all maintenance tasks assigned in a reasonable time frame while adhering to all applicable standards, in a safe and professional manner
- Remain flexible and responsive to scheduling needs
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and Highschool diploma or equivalent required
- General technical experience and prior working experience required. 1-3 years between school and field experience in hotels and facilities maintenance preferred
- Working knowledge of pool service and maintenance - Certified Pool Operator or certified within six months
- Basic working knowledge of general maintenance (including carpentry, plumbing, and painting), HV/AC, restaurant equipment, and operation of hand and power tools
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. and work 8-12 hour standing shifts
- Understanding of safety and security work practices

- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
- Adequate skills for writing of routine reports, logs, and correspondence
- Desire to continue to learn and develop in a specific trade area
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
