Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To solicit new group accounts and manage existing accounts for maximum yield and penetration. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively initiate, lead, and direct an aggressive sales plan in getting new business. This is a great opportunity for a go-getter with super high-energy, an aggressive sales individual to join our team.
Includes the following but not limited to:
- Maximizes sales by pre-qualifying potential business in terms of season and rate, arrival/departure patterns, meeting rooms
- Prospects for new accounts and bookings within assigned market segment and territory. Ability to negotiate and answer RFPs
- Develops sales action plan for respective market or territory and meets commitments to follow through on present accounts, soliciting new account, site inspections, sales trips, and trade shows
- Develops new accounts in respective markets while maintaining and expanding current accounts
- Responsible for highest group sales quota of the sales team to achieve budgeted room night/revenue goals for current and future years
- Develops sales strategies for specific group market segments via quarterly smart action plans.
- Studies the competition to help maintain competitiveness
- Represents the Company on sales calls and trade association meetings to promote product
- Promote good community relations
- Responsible for activity goals and entering into sales software
- Must build relationships within Sales team to support a cooperative ‘team player’ environment
- Some Travel is required

Qualifications Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have previous sales experience and hotel experience would be helpful but not required. Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience
Minimum two (2) years of Hotel Sales experience. Bachelor’s degree (hotel school, university, and/or equivalent experience). Able to assertively and effectively sell and close business opportunities that would be profitable for the hotel. Must be able to handle stress and work independently, self-motivated.
Ability to read and interpret documents and contracts
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Able to communicate effectively, both orally and by written work.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
