Manufacturing Engineer

Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, 
processing, machining, and material handling.  Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to 
ensure most efficient and productive layout.  Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for 
the fabrications of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.   Verifies performance 
of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiates corrective action of problems 
and deficiencies to ensure product quality.  Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process 
control and may develop those techniques.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Understand, create, ands review manufacturing process of part details/assemblies
• Reading and understanding specification requirements for special process and non-special process activities
• Develop manufacturing process flow
• Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and assists in designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confers with planning staff concerning product tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Assists in the design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Analyzes performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
• Confers with planning staff concerning product tooling to ensure efficient production methods
• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
• Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrications of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
• Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. 
• Consults customer specification documents to develop operations routing for all manufactured products.
• Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures
• Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures
• Good regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

Education and Skills Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 5 years manufacturing assembly experience required
• Experience with generating and reviewing manufacturing process for shop floor mechanics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Relevant technological experience
• Knowledge of reading and understanding 2D drawings
• Knowledge of viewing, measuring, and understanding of 3D part/assembly models 

• Basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to)
  1. Microsoft Project Management software
  2. Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software
  3. Microsoft Word Processing software
  4. Microsoft Power Point
  5. CAD software (preferably CATIA)
• Ability to lead and work independently 
• Experience with ERP system and CSI/Syteline preferred
• Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• Experience using Catia and UG software preferred
