What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Tax Planning position at Radius Global Infrastructure?
The Director of Tax Planning is responsible for developing and executing strategic tax initiatives to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with local, federal, and international tax regulations. This role involves analyzing complex tax issues, managing tax-efficient structures, and providing strategic guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and business operations. The Director of Tax Planning collaborates with senior leadership, finance, and legal teams to drive effective tax strategies that align with corporate objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Advise business partners on tax implications for the following:
- Restructuring and intercompany transactions, including assisting in development of business models to support decisions.
- International cash management strategies and activities
- Implications of changing global tax environment including OECD proposals, EU initiatives, and tax reform in major countries
- Tax implications of economics for sales contracts & acquisition transactions including share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, sale lease-back agreements and collaboration agreements.
- Provide oversight and management for the following processes and activities:
- Due diligence processes related to foreign and domestic acquisitions
- Acquisition matrix for foreign transactions including tax attributes attributable to various foreign asset classes and maintenance of corresponding memos
- Collaborate with Director of International Tax and Director of Treasury on inter-company activities
- Collaborate with Vice President of Acquisitions providing support for tax related matters
- International structure memos related to acquisitions and reorganizations in support of year-end audits.
- Other Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring for tax legislation in EU and LATAM countries
- Initiating or supporting tax rulings or tax position memos
- Developing an effective team by recruiting, developing, and monitoring performance
- Provide coaching and training to staff to maximize their potential
- Establish a highly engaged culture that is focused on compliance, continuous improvement and staff development
- Identify and implement industry best practices for planning processes
- Collaborate with other groups in the Finance Department to drive important initiatives
- Supporting treasury intercompany structuring & transfer pricing
- Ad hoc projects as required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation; CPA, JD, or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years corporate tax experience required with preference in EMEA region
- Experience in the Real Estate sector preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of People leadership experience required
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Query)
- Knowledge of Tax and Accounting policies, procedures and requirements
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international tax laws, M&A tax structuring, and transfer pricing.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and business partnering skills required
- Proven people leadership skills
- Ability to assess complex tax scenarios and provide actionable recommendations.
- Ability to think strategically and adapt to market conditions and emerging trends
- Strong interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $165,000 - $220,000 bonus potential
