The Personal Caregiver will provide nonmedical care and support to clients in their home or residential care setting. This role is essential in ensuring that clients are comfortable safe and able to live independently or with assistance as needed. The caregiver will offer personalized support with activities of daily living mobility personal hygiene and other caregiving tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assisting with Daily Living Activities :
Help clients with personal hygiene such as bathing grooming and dressing.
Assist with mobility and transfers including helping clients move around their homes or get in and out of bed or chairs.Aid with meal preparation feeding and dietary management ensuring the clients nutritional needs are met.Assist with toileting and incontinence care.Health Monitoring & Support :Assist with taking medications as prescribed and help monitor health condition reporting changes to a family member or healthcare provider.
Provide companionship offering emotional support and reducing feelings of loneliness.Monitor vital signs and help with basic exercises to maintain physical health.Household Assistance :Help with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning laundry and organizing the clients living space.
Run errands like grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions as needed.Safety and Emergency Assistance :Ensure that the clients environment is safe and free from hazards.
Respond to emergencies if they arise and notify family members or medical professionals as needed.Documentation and Reporting :Keep a record of services provided client activities and any notable changes in the clients physical or emotional condition.
Report any concerns to the family medical professionals or other care team members.Qualifications :
Experience : Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not always required. Training may be provided.Skills :Compassionate patient and empathetic.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and their families.Basic knowledge of personal care techniques and procedures.Ability to perform physical tasks (e.g. lifting or assisting with mobility).Certifications : CPR and First Aid certification may be required or preferred. A caregiving certification (such as a Certified Nursing Assistant) is a plus but not always required.Physical Requirements :
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting bending and assisting with mobility.May need to lift or assist with transferring the client from one location to another.Desired Attributes :
