This position has a successful track record of acting as a spring board for those looking to advance their career to their own Golf Operations Leadership role.Prioritized Keys to Successful Performance : Knowledgeable and organized leaderExpert in providing high end customer servicesWelcoming, collaborative, and forward-thinkingEffective communicatorSelf-aware and self-motivated by a desire for successExperience Required CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSKnowledge, Skills, & TraitsMaintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classificationExperience at similar facilities with a track record of success in providing service in a high-volume environmentHigh level of knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operationsAct as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employeesStrong organizational, time management, planning, and prioritization skillsService and customer focused attitudeExperienced computer user familiar with Microsoft Word, Golf Genius, GHIN and proficient in other applications, i.e. email, text message and other applicable softwareAttend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trendsMaintain a credible golf game and represent the Club in professional eventsEssential Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSGolf OperationsManage an innovative tournament program that services all member segments, maintaining the high level of interest and excitement surrounding the tournament programCommunicate regularly through multiple channels (including ForeTees and Clubster platforms) with all segments of the membership to ensure up to date information and promotion of golf events and offeringsWork closely with Director of Golf to ensure Golf Committee’s vision and expectations are being met or exceeded.Actively manage and update online tee sheetRespond accurately and efficiently to member needs and requests, maintaining a consistently high level of member satisfactionPrioritize building relationships with members on an individual basis, therefore improving the ‘member experience’ and creating connection with the ClubPlan and execute golf outings to meet expectationsPlay golf with a variety of members on a regular basis both at the Club and in Pro-Am eventsDevelop and maintain a high-level of teaching and coaching skills to benefit all levels of playersAdminister the Rules of Golf and educate staffRetail ManagementOversee retail merchandise concession with gross sales of $400,000 in step with the mission of the golf operation and facilityAssist in the development of necessary systems utilizing POS to safeguard inventories and cashBe diligent with accurate recordkeeping policies and proceduresMaintain an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shopAdministrativeRecruit, train, motivate, and supervise all golf shop staff and maintain accurate payroll recordsAct as a mentor and coach to Assistant Professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve both facility and individual goalsUpdate and maintain golf shop policies and procedures and job descriptions and ensure they are adhered toEnsure all applicable staff are trained and educated in club policies, golf rules and the calendar of events, able to answer questions in such areas in a timely and accurate fashionMaintain safety standards that meet Club requirements, prioritizing the safety and health of all staff, members, and guestsAdhere to, enforce, and implement policies and procedures of the facility as well as the Club’s Rules and RegulationsFinancialEnsure systems controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resourcesIn keeping with facility goals, utilize yield management techniques to maximize course usageOther Facility & Departmental ResponsibilitiesWork closely with all department heads to achieve the goals and objectives of the facilityMaintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament set upCoordinate plans with the Food and Beverage Manager for food and beverage needs for all golf functions
