Medical Records and Film Coordinator

The Coordinator is responsible for the organization, filing, and management of medical records, including the accurate retrieval and hanging of films on light boards. This role ensures all records and films are properly stored, signed out, and available for radiological review. The position requires attention to detail, a strong focus on patient confidentiality, and efficient handling of medical records and films.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy standards.
Respond to requests for medical records in a timely and professional manner.
Accurately file and retrieve medical records and films as required.
Ensure the proper procedures for signing out medical records are followed.
Locate and recover misplaced films efficiently.
Hang requested films on light boards accurately.
Organize films on light boards and coordinate related paperwork for radiologists.
Ensure that all necessary comparison films are available and ready for review, along with appropriate reports.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) :

Strong attention to detail with accurate filing and typing skills.

Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone.

Basic computer literacy, with an ability to use relevant software for record-keeping.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a focus on efficiency.

Education & Experience Requirements :

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Relevant experience in medical record management or a similar environment is a plus but not mandatory.
