The following position may be available for the 2024-25 school year:
Accompanist
District-wide
- hours to "vary" based on rehearsal and concert
Qualifications:
- Be able to play piano at an advanced level and read vocal scores
- Be able to accompany chorus on piano
- Be prepared and punctual
- Able to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Able to work cooperatively with others
- Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Responsibilities:
- Perform piano accompaniments for rehearsals and performances.
o Fourth Grade concerts are in May (5-6 pieces)
o Sixth Chorus concerts are usually in June. (4-5 pieces)
o Seventh Grade Chorus concerts are usually in June. (5-8 pieces)
- Both groups will perform for separate school assemblies in the morning.
- Play individual parts together or alone for rehearsals.
- Be able to follow the directors conducting and intentions.
- Provide assistance to substitute teachers by leading rehearsals if necessary.
- Perform other related music duties as assigned
Time Requirements:
- RMS Rehearses in the morning from 7:50-8:23 AM.
- Assemblies usually run from 7:50-9:00 AM.
- Even concerts start at 7 PM and vary in length. Students and accompanist needed half an hour earlier than concert.
- There are 5-6 rehearsals in each building spanning from late April through May
o Wayne 11:45-12:25 PM
o Radnor 11:30-12:20 PM
o Ithan 2:45-3:35 PM
There are two concerts at each building (an all-school assembly and an evening concert at 7 PM). All-school assembly times may vary by building but are usually held in the afternoon.
*Hours will be paid for preparing for rehearsals, and concerts. *
Hourly Rate: $23.09
