JOB SUMMARY : This position serves as the supervisor of the direct care staff : leading, developing, coordinating, and engaging the team in support of daily operations. Implements and evaluates the departments orientation and education program under the direction of the Leadership team and in accordance with regulatory requirements for long term care. Facilitates orientation of all new employees and coordinates with leadership to support job training, partnering new employee with appropriate discipline for training. Coordinates annual competency and proficiency training as needed working with leadership to ensure team members maintain proficiency in all clinical areas. Responsible for inservice training of direct care staff per regulatory requirements. This individual also serves as the Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) for the long-term care unit working closely with the Director of Nursing and Infection Control Department to implement the Infection Control Plan each year. Includes implementation, monitoring, education, training, coordination, auditing, quality improvement processes to maintain a high level of infection control compliance throughout the unit.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : H.S.
