Delivery Driver – Job Description

Reports to: Branch Manager

Based at: RAF Seamless Gutter Supply- Frederick MD, Crofton MD, or Manassas VA, willing to fill in at other locations if necessary.

Job Purpose: Daily Delivery of gutters fabricated at the job site and gutter related material to specified locations. To assist with manufacturing and warehouse duties once daily deliveries are completed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and compile materials necessary for delivery to the customer’s job site or place of business. Packing orders.
• Load the delivery trucks with appropriate materials and coils for delivery.
• Daily driving to job sites for delivery of appropriate materials in order to complete each order assigned to the driver.
• Fabricate gutters in the appropriate size and color by using a gutter machine.
• Trouble shooting gutter machines for any defects or difficulties when fabricating gutters.
• Assist in the warehouse with pick up customer’s orders once daily deliveries are completed.
• Assist in warehouse with receiving materials and putting material away in the appropriate place.
• Maintain the warehouse for cleanliness and order.
• Maintain the delivery trucks for cleanliness and order.
• Develop product knowledge necessary to process orders and answer customer’s questions.
• Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health, safety, and quality management.
• Assist in manufacturing as needed and directed.
• Assist in office by answering phones, taking orders, and processing orders via computer as needed and directed.
• Maintain the appropriate paper work required.
• Light housekeeping responsibilities.
• Maintain company standard for quality.
• Maintain company standard for customer care.
• Must be versatile and willing to help others as needed.
• Must be available to work beyond your standard shift when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Specific Job Skills:

• Valid driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
• Department of Transportation Medical card or able to pass requirements for DOT Medical Card.
• Must be able to drive safely.
• Must be able to load and unload packages in various types of weather.
• Personal cell phone available during working hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of weight.
• Must be physically able to climb a ladder.
• Must be able to understand, speak, and write English.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become forklift certified.
• Must be able to read a map or navigate delivery area with GPS.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Computer skills a plus.
• Must be 21 or older- required by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Must be customer service friendly.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Must pay attention to detail and must be able to follow company standard operating procedure (SOP). Must be able to multitask. Reliable and responsible. Able to take directions. Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, but also able to function independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Are you mechanically inclined? Can you figure out how things work and fix if needed? Are you able to work OT, occasionally drivers will get back past normal hours but not often.

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Route driving: 1 year (Preferred)
