Job Description:
As a Tool Attendant/Driver at Rafn Company, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, maintenance, and efficient operation of tools and equipment for our construction projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for safely and timely transporting tools, equipment, and materials to various job sites. Your responsibilities will include:
Tool Technician:
- Conducting routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of construction tools and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and scheduled service intervals.
- Collaborating with project teams to identify tool and equipment needs for upcoming projects and coordinating their procurement.
- Managing inventory levels, tracking tool usage, and facilitating the replacement or repair of damaged or worn-out tools.
- Assisting in the organization and cleanliness of the tool storage area, ensuring tools are readily accessible and properly stored.
Driver:
- Safely operating company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition.
- Assisting in loading and unloading tools, equipment, and materials at job sites, and ensuring they are securely fastened for transit.
- Maintaining accurate logs of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Assisting in general labor tasks on job sites as needed, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, and basic construction tasks.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Previous experience in tool maintenance and repair, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with a variety of construction tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional experience, education and certification and/or special training is preferred, such as forklift certification and operation.
A pre-employment drug screen and background check will be required.
