What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Designer / Designer - Men’s RTW Wovens position at rag & bone?
Responsibilities
- Research: Provide trend & vintage research based on seasonal inspiration and brand lifestyledirection
- Design: Ownership of RTW Outerwear, Tailoring, Non-Denim Bottoms, and Shirting categories –including original sketches, color-ups, and materiality suggestions
- Development: Complete techpacks/design sheets for tech hand-offs, making sure they areaccurate & clear for technical design team. Additionally oversees seasonal trim design &development
- Fitting: Attend weekly fittings from prototype-production - ensuring fit, construction, andmaterial accuracy at each product stage
- Presentation: Work with Design Director to present design concepts at sketch, prototype, andSMS stages. Can clearly communicate their inspiration & ideas to both internal design team,Creative Director, and cross-functional partners
- Organization: Create and maintain seasonal boards (physical & digital versions); keeping boardsconsistently updated after meetings & fittings
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional team members in merchandising, productdevelopment, and tech design to ensure brand alignment
- Teamwork: Support design team as needed to organize and prep for meetings, ie: sketchreviews, proto reviews, market reviews – using key dates and calendar set up by the SVP &Design Director
- Creative thinker with a passion for menswear
- Must have proficient technical knowledge of Wovens product (outerwear, tailoring, bottoms, shirting)
- Strong understanding of textiles, materials, and trims
- Must be extremely organized, have ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must have thorough knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Knowledge of Miro a plus
