Job Summary
District Area Manager, NYC & LI
rag & bone is seeking a driven and strategic Area Manager to oversee our retail stores in the NYC and Long Island region. Reporting to the VP of Stores, the Area Manager will lead and inspire store teams to achieve sales goals, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and maintain brand standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to play a pivotal role in shaping our retail presence in a key market.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to store managers and their teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Recruit, onboard, and train store managers and key team members to align with brand values and operational standards.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Drive sales performance across the region by analyzing store KPIs and identifying growth opportunities.
- Partner with store managers to develop localized strategies to exceed revenue goals and maximize profitability.
- Monitor expenses, inventory, and staffing levels to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Champion a culture of exceptional customer service, ensuring consistency across all locations.
- Work with store teams to implement brand-specific clienteling strategies and maintain customer loyalty.
- Address customer feedback to continually enhance the shopping experience.
- Ensure all stores adhere to company policies, visual merchandising guidelines, and operational protocols.
- Conduct regular store visits to audit compliance, assess operations, and provide coaching.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., merchandising, marketing, and HR) to support store needs.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth.
- Represent the brand at local events or activations to enhance community engagement.
- Ensure your VM team creates efficient and effective actions to increase customer satisfaction
- Keep up to date with fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, products, brands, competitors
- Ensure that the VM team secures window & styling execution accordingly to visual & commercial guidelines to create inspirational & commercial customer experience
- Experience with being solution focused to improve product presentation and commercial implementation in store
- Good knowledge of retail management, visual, commercial & operational best practices, routines, and tools
- 5 years of multi-unit retail management experience, preferably in contemporary fashion or luxury retail.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and operational excellence across multiple locations.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of the NYC and Long Island retail landscape is a plus.
