Description
RaganSmith is seeking a full-time, entry-level Transportation Engineer Designer based in our Nashville office upon May 2025 graduation. This position will assist in plan production, project design, and site visits on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients. The Transportation Engineer will collaborate with other transportation team members, land surveyors, environmental engineers, and landscape architects to assist our clients in developing transportation related projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in transportation design plan production, studies, and analyses through project software
- Horizontal and vertical geometric design
- Stormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control design
- Perform multi-department coordination for project completion
- Support project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverables
- Additional related duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- 1-3 years of engineering experience
- Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of TDOT design guidelines and standards
- Experience in transportation design and development of roadway plans
- Understanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTO
- Proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Tennessee EI Registration
