Position Summary
RAI is expanding our in-house detailing team due to our company’s growth. We are seeking an experienced Miscellaneous Steel Detailer with strong experience in detailing mezzanines, stairs, and handrails.
Essential Functions
- Interpret construction documents to create a detailed 3-D model using SDS/2.
- Check all connections for code and structural requirements.
- Detail miscellaneous steel including mezzanines, stairs, handrails, and ladders.
- Create detailed shop drawings for steel fabrication.
- Develop erection drawings and anchor setting plans for field use.
- Generate reports and downloads to assist other team members.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure quality and schedule are maintained.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience detailing miscellaneous steel.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience detailing in SDS/2.
- Understanding of AISC, OSHA, and AWS standards and procedures as they relate to steel fabrication and erection preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team-oriented communication skills.
- Experience with Google Suite and Bluebeam preferred.
- Structural steel detailing experience preferred.
- Checking experience is a plus.
- Authorized to work in the US (proof of this status will be required upon employment). We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time.

- In-office preferred with a possibility for a hybrid or remote schedule depending on experience.
