The Accounting Intern will assist with month-end close and audit procedures including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Participate in audits by organizing financial data and supporting documentation.
- Perform data entry and data reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of accounting records and documentation.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and compliance documentation.
- Research and analyze discrepancies in financial transactions.
- Maintain organized financial files and records.
- Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments during data investigation to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
- Sitting for long periods of time throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25lbs
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
