OUTDOOR Railbike Guide Rail Explorers: Bluegrass Kentucky Division for our FALL 2023 SEASON-

Flexible start/end dates and flexible weekly schedules are available, with pay starting at $17/hr and training provided. Advancement is also possible within the company – Rail Explorers prefers to promote from within.

If you love being outdoors and are comfortable working outside and in nature, physically active, positive, outgoing, and have excellent customer service skills.

Rail Explorers is an eco-tourism company providing top-tier outdoor recreation experiences. We connect the freedom of the outdoors and the magic of the railroad in a unique and fun activity that can be enjoyed by all ages. There are six Rail Explorers Divisions, located in Cooperstown, NY, Phoenicia, NY, Newport, RI, and Boone, IA, Bluegrass Kentucky Division, and now introducing Rail Explorers newest addition in West Virginia.

Responsibilities:

• Reliable and prompt for turning up to work.
• Greeting and communicating with customers and being happy.
• Pedaling Rail Explorer vehicles, with motor assist, on 4 miles (8 miles round trip) excursions.
• Learning safe work practices.
• Performing physical work outdoors, in the elements.
• Working closely with fellow guides in a fast paced team setting.
• Maintaining a high level of professionalism in customer service and the Rail Explorers code of Ethics.
• Learning rail safety and maintenance of Rail Explorer vehicles - training provided.
• Speaking in front of guests - approximately 40-60 guests per tour, following a script.
• Reliability is crucial.

Qualifications:

• Required: Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Required: Ability to perform physical labor (lift a minimum of 50lbs)
• Preferred: Customer service experience, 1-2 years.
• Preferred: Driver's License.

Rail Explorers Operating Days:

Rail Explorers is a SEASONAL outdoor tourism operation, opening and closing dates vary and are influenced by weather conditions.

Rail Explorers Bluegrass Kentucky Division is scheduled to run until October 31st, 2024, and reopen for the 2025 season in April. Successful guides will be offered to join us for the 2025 season. Part time shifts are approximately 4 - 8 hours long but can be longer or shorter, depending on schedule needs and employee preference.
