What are the responsibilities and job description for the (FRP) Fiberglass Resin Technician position at Railway Products Group, Inc?
We are looking for EXPERIENCED Fiberglass Resin Technicians. The position includes the use of various Fiberglass Resin to produce final assemblies. Work is indoors. Components are used in the production of Module Systems of the interiors for passenger rail cars. The use of standard and specialized tools may be required.
Salary based on experience.
A successful candidate will be able to multitask effectively and have experience with fiberglass resin.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize proper hand tools, various adhesives and resin systems to produce (FRP) Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic components and/or final assemblies.
- Utilize Work Orders to identify daily work scope to coincide with Production schedule requirements.
- Knowledge of core materials, their limitations and the correct uses
- Read and use weighing scales for resin system mixing.
- Advise supervisor of the status of work in progress when requested.
- Advise supervisor of the potential production problems experienced from assembly activities to ensure that future assembly difficulties are resolved. Resolution may include assisting with the identification of required revisions to drawings and/or material.
- Assist with the movement of materials as directed.
- Report material shortages from “picked” material to supervisor and to report damaged materials from “picked” material.
- Assist with the daily clean-up of all shop areas including moving debris to dumpsters or as directed.
- Work Overtime as needed or assigned to complete tasks and/or projects.
- Complete other tasks/duties as assigned.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of 8-10hr shift.
- Must be able to negotiate multiple heights of stools and ladders.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs, and may be asked to lift that amount above your head.
- Must be able to use hand tools at eye level or above.
- Ability to arrive on time from 7:30AM - 4PM Monday through Friday is required, some half-day Saturdays are required.
- An attitude to get the job done correctly the first time.
Salary based on experience.
