Job Overview
This position is responsible for setting up and operating a hydraulic CNC press brake machine to bend, shape, metal sheets and plates according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring produced parts meet quality standards by performing necessary adjustments and inspections throughout the manufacturing process. An ideal candidate is one that can understand shop drawings but is also a good problem solver when little details are provided.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares, sets up and adjusts press brake dies as required by product plans and material type and thickness
- Selecting and installing the appropriate tooling (dies and punches) based on the project requirements
- Measuring, loading and aligning sheet metal into the press brake
- Ensuring proper positioning and alignment of metal inside the press brake
- Activating the machine to perform safe bending operations
- Checking finished parts for accuracy and/or defects
- Troubleshooting and addressing problems that arise during the bending process
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication and maintenance of the press brake, identify and report mechanical issues
- Maintain a clean work area
- Comply with all health and safety standards in the manufacturing facility
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a press brake operator
- In-depth understanding of the parts of a press brake and how a hydraulic and CNC machine works
- Knows safety rules for press brakes
- Comfortable with measurements, layout and calculating settings
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work safely and follow all company safety policies.
- Ability to successfully complete equipment operating training, as needed.
- Basic mechanical knowledge
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous experience in a fabrication shop
- Ability to program a CNC press brake
- Ability to calculate bend radii and die selection based on drawing requirements
- CAD program experience
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, or sit for extended periods of time; reach and handle objects, tools, or controls; regularly lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Perform manual labor and utilize various hand tools.
Working Environment:
- Most work will be performed inside the fabrication shop.
- Noise levels will be consistent with standard fabrication shop equipment. PPE will be provided and expected to be used per safety policies.
- Common fabrication shop safety hazards include working with or near moving equipment, sharp objects, and hot surfaces.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
