Houseman/Laundry Processor

Seeking applications from experienced professional laborers and guest room attendants to add to our talent pool for consideration for potential future openings.

Rain Travel Collection is a hotel management company providing operations services to six hotel properties in downtown Ocean Springs.

Houseman is an essential role in operations ensuring that all hotel laundry is processed strategically so that all rooms are ready for returning and new guests.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in housekeeping, maintenance, and/or security is preferred
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, strong task management skills, self-starter
• Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must have car insurance. Must pass a background check
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.

Goals

• Clean grounds and set-up properties.
• Strip rooms in order to get dirty laundry to the laundry room so it can be processed.
• Stock all hotel laundry rooms with clean linen, supplies, toiletries and amenities to proper par levels.

Key Outcomes

• Pools & grounds are maintained daily
• Laundry is transported from dirty to Laundry Room and clean to the appropriate hotel per the schedule.
• Assigned tasks are completed daily- some include light maintenance (light bulbs, battery replacements etc.)
• Clean linen is transported back to all laundry rooms and stocked.
• All toiletries, amenities, and supplies are stocked according to proper par levels

Schedule, Location, and Hours

• Schedule: Shift Based - 1st Shift- 8:00 am-6:00 pm
• Location: Travel between the six hotel properties under Rain Travel Collection’s management.
• Hours: 8 Hour Shift, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

• Movement of laundry from rooms to processing facility
• Ensure Cleanliness of Trash Cans, Grounds, Pool areas.
• Conduct routine patrols of all hotel properties to ensure security.

Additional Duties:

• Assist with post-event cleanup in the ballroom and Sunset Lounge.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and escalate them to maintenance techs when appropriate.

Reports to:

• Reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager/Lead

Performance Metrics

• All laundry in the processing room by 2:00 p.m.
• All Clean laundry stocked in an organized manner at each hotel laundry room by 6:00 p.m.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
