SUMMARY
Rainbow Community Health & Wellness (RCHW) is seeking a dynamic and organized Wellness Program Coordinator to develop, implement, and manage our wellness initiatives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and wellness; self-motivated to develop and evaluate wellness programs; skilled in communication and interpersonal skills; and well-suited to a collaborative, community-focused work environment. As a key member of our team, the Wellness Programming Coordinator will play a crucial role in creating and facilitating wellness programs that enhance the wellbeing of our community.
Please note: This position requires a valid certification or licensure in a wellness-related field (e.g. certified fitness instructor, mental health professional, licensed massage therapist, health coach).
This is a part-time position (approx. 10-15 hours/week, with the potential for up to 20 hours/week based on programming needs, client load, and funding) paid at $16/hour through the 90-day Introductory Period for new employees.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development and Implementation
- Design, plan, and facilitate a variety of wellness programs, workshops, and events tailored to the needs of our LGBTQ community.
- Research and identify evidence-based wellness practices and resources.
- Develop program materials, including presentations, handouts, and promotional materials.
- Work closely with other staff members and volunteers to ensure seamless program delivery, including coordinating program logistics (e.g. scheduling, marketing, setup).
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and other relevant organizations.
- Promote wellness programs through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community events.
- Recruit and train volunteers to support program activities.
- Conduct outreach to engage underserved populations.
- Attend Rainbow Cafe and RCHW events for outreach and relationship-building.
PROGRAM EVALUATION & REPORTING
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and participant feedback.
- Measure and report on program impact.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Manage program budgets and track expenses.
- Maintain accurate records and files, including program participation and spending.
- Organize, order, and inventory wellness supplies within the established budget.
- Assist with grant writing, grant reporting, and fundraising efforts as needed.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and employee development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to pass a DCFS background check
- First aid and CPR certified (if not certified, must be willing to undergo training and be able to pass the certification)
- Certification or valid licensure in a wellness-related field (ie., health coaching, fitness instruction, mental health professional, licensed massage therapist, etc.)
- Willing to pursue and complete additional certifications, credentials, and continuing education relevant to clinical needs, as determined by Director(s)
- Experience in wellness program development, implementation, and evaluation, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Strong knowledge of health and wellness principles and practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
- Passion for working with underserved communities
- Experience with program evaluation
INTRODUCTORY PERIOD
- The first 90 days is considered an introductory period for new employees
- During this period, the new employee will become familiar with Rainbow Cafe and their specific job responsibilities and the employee’s supervisor will monitor and evaluate their performance
- Successful completion of the introductory period may result in increased hours or hourly pay
- Completion of this introductory period does not imply guaranteed or continued employment
- Nothing that occurs during or after this period should be construed to change the nature of the “at-will” employment relationship
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $16 per hour, with potential for increase after Introductory Period
- Paid time off and multiple paid holidays per year
- Additional benefits dependent on employee eligibility
