About us
Rainbow Pediatric is a designated Rural Health Clinic located in Humboldt, Tennessee. In Humboldt you will find small-town charm just minutes from Jackson and a short drive to Memphis and Nashville. The clinic is conveniently located on Main Street and was established in 2007.
Rainbow Pediatric is looking for a full-time or part-time Pediatric Trained Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its well established practice. Rainbow is a small group practice that has been providing high quality medical care in its rural community for over 10 years. Rainbow is currently the only practicing pediatric clinic in the city, so there is plenty of opportunity for growth. It is an NCQA Recognized Patient Centered Medical Home focused on community outreach and family advocacy.
We're looking for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant to perform medical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of children in accordance with established standards. You will provide care to patients of all ages, providing preventive services as well as treatment of illnesses, diseases and injury prevention. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner duties include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, issuing prescriptions, administering immunizations and preparing medical records. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner you should have excellent communication skills for maintaining patient relationships. Since the clinical environment may involve illness or injury to patients, good clinical judgment is required. You should be able to cope with challenging tasks and a fast-paced environment. As our new nurse practitioner you should have the ability to perform a wide range of skills and work independently or as a member of a team. You need to have great interpersonal skills and be able to work in an environment with various cultures, languages and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient intake and registration.
- Assess pediatric patients' conditions by conducting medical histories and physical examination.
- Create treatment plans that consider patient's age, condition and any current intervention plans.
- Update and communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care regarding medical history, symptoms, progress or any changes in treatment plans.
- Educate patient and family about the care plan.
- Document findings in medical records; counsel patients on health promotion and disease prevention
