What are the responsibilities and job description for the DHC-2 (SES) Pilot in Command position at Rainbow River Aviation?
Rainbow River Aviation is looking for a pilot to fly our DHC-2 on floats in the King Salmon area. This pilot will be based for part of the year in the village of King Salmon, and the other part of the year at Royal Wolf Lodge located in Katmai National Park. The season for this pilot is from June 1st to October 5th 2025.
This position will be paid a monthly salary, travel, room and board, and tips for lodge flying. The salary is completely dependent on experience AND ability.
This is not a typical lodge pilot position where you fly guests out, sit all day in your airplane, and then fly the guests home at dinner time. This position requires a pilot who loves to fly, is in good physical shape, and can handle their airplane in the water without help from a team of guides or dock handlers.
This pilot can expect to fly around 100 hours a month with 6-10 landings a day. Rainbow River Aviation services an extensive list of 135 clients in very technical flying environment. Small rivers, big/rough water, large tide swings, and fast current are all going to be apart of your weekly missions.
Applicants should have the following experience:
Commercial SES, IFR
1500 Total Time
250 Float Time
100 DHC-2 Time (Floats)
Preferred Prior 135 Experience
Preference will be given to Pilots with Alaska Time
Please reach out to Chris Hartis, our Director of Operations with a resume and at least TWO professional references.
