JOB COMPONENTS:
- Primary Duties: Initially would be to assist the four lead designers with 2-D AutoCAD drafting, measuring and drafting base drawings, and producing construction documents.
- Secondary Role: Assist with various material selections involved with residential construction (e.g. countertops, color/paint, flooring, lighting/plumbing fixtures, outdoor space finishes, etc.).
- Additional Workload: Produce 3D renderings of remodel, new construction, and landscape projects.
Depending on the candidate’s capabilities and personal goals, they could have the potential to move into a lead role in the future, taking on their own set of projects and individual responsibilities.
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE CANDIDATE INCLUDE:
- Proficiency, general knowledge, willingness, or aptitude to learn two-dimensional computer-based drafting with an emphasis on residential light construction for construction document production.
- Knowledge, experience, or interest in light-frame building techniques and carpentry is very helpful (for example, you’ve spent some time actively building wood-based structures).
- Educational background, experience in, or a passion for Architecture, Interior Design, and/or Landscape Design are essential.
- Three-dimensional computer modeling and rendering skills using programs such as Chief Architect, Sketchup, or Revit are strongly desired.
- Although not required, please let us know if you have experience helping people select paint colors, tile, flooring, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, plants, outdoor related finishes, or similar items.

JOB SPECIFICS BENEFITS:
- Hours: This is a full-time position. For us that means 37-40 hours per week. We rarely work weekends or exceed 40 hours or work in one week.
- Benefits:
- Personal health insurance: You will be eligible after 60 days of employment. We offer a Silver-level plan with alternative care (employees pay $50/month) or a Health Savings Account plan (employees pay nothing and company adds $25/month to the HSA). If you have health insurance already you will be eligible for a monthly medical bonus.
- Paid Time Off: You start accruing paid time off (PTO) immediately and can start using it after 30 days. Year 1-4 you are eligible for up to 40 hours. Years 5-9 – 80 hours. Years 10-19 – 120 hours. Years 20 - 160 hours.
- Paid Holidays: We pay your wages for 6 holidays a year. You can choose which holidays you would like to be paid for.
- Simple IRA Matching Retirement Fund: We match your contributions to a retirement account up to 3% of your gross wages. The benefit begins January 1stafter the year you start.
- Yearend bonuses: We give out annual bonuses at the end of the year based on the profitability of the year, an employee’s individual effort, and their longevity with Rainbow Valley.

- Hourly Compensation: A new design team member can expect to make between $24.00 and $32.00 an hour. Where you fit in that range will depend on your skills, experience, and your on-the-job assessment. We conduct periodic reviews and make proactive adjustments to reward improved work performance.
