Area Manager Or Senior Property Manager
Location: Central California
Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 (Pay Is dependent on experience and other factors)
POSITION SUMMARY
As an Area Manager, you will oversee multiple properties within your assigned region, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and resident satisfaction. You will be responsible for leading and guiding property managers, implementing company policies, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of each site. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with strong property management experience, financial acumen, and a passion for team development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee operations for multiple properties, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive financial performance by monitoring rent collection, occupancy rates, delinquency, and expenditures, implementing corrective action plans when needed.
- Develop and execute property-level annual operating budgets, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Provide leadership, training, and support to property managers, ensuring operational efficiency and a positive team culture.
- Conduct regular property inspections to assess maintenance, curb appeal, and resident satisfaction, recommending necessary improvements.
- Assist in recruiting, selecting, and training on-site staff, ensuring high-performing teams at each location.
- Foster strong relationships between properties and upper management, communicating key updates, challenges, and solutions.
- Review and approve expense reports and budgets for assigned properties, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Stay informed about industry changes, regulatory requirements, and company policies, ensuring compliance across all managed properties.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years of progressive property management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing multiple sites or departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to manage financial performance, budgeting, and meet occupancy goals.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of property management operations, including leasing, rent collection, budgeting, and maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage teams across multiple locations.
- Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of local and state property management regulations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- This position may require frequent travel between properties within the assigned region.
