POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, People Operations, the primary focus of the HR Manager’s role is to provide people-centric HR solutions and advice around all aspects of the employee life cycle, to supervise the overall day-to-day HR functions within the region and to coordinate office facilities.
The HR Manager supervises a small team of HR Generalists and facilities staff.
This position works in close collaboration with the other HR Managers within the People Operations Team and HR colleagues within the other functional areas of the Global HR department.
In addition to their daily duties, the HR Manager will act as a liaison between departments and the HR team, while also being the first point of contact for employees and operational managers in the Asia Pacific region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities including hiring; mentoring and evaluating; guiding professional development opportunities; and addressing employee relations issues;
- Act as a trusted and expert advisor to management on a range of people related topics and HR practices adhering to local employment law and maintaining best practice;
- Act as single point of contact for employees and operational managers providing quick, accurate and consistent advice;
- Lead the day-to-day HR activities relating to the employee life cycle – including: onboarding, employee relations, engagement, performance management and separation;
- Support employee engagement and an exceptional employee experience by taking initiative and making use of the expertise of other HR departments;
- Ensure effective implementation and execution of all global and local HR projects, policies, procedures, and initiatives, and contribute to the design, update and improvement of HR policies and initiatives;
- Support the other HR department on all annual/cyclical activities such as performance reviews and calibration, compensation, operational model changes and promotion process;
- Be responsible for office facilities;
- Work in close collaboration with the other HR Managers and act as a peer mentor/buddy to the HR Manager;
- Maintains compliance with local/regional employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance;
- Identify and recommend improvements to internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), use existing HR systems as well as improved or recommended processes;
- Support the talent acquisition team and serve on search committees and any other working committees;
- Provide oversight and support to staff responsible for administering the employee benefits program and leave administration, and
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
- 6-8 years minimum proven work experience in HR, preferably generalist experience;
- Demonstrated ability (3 years) in supervising staff;
- Experience of advising on complex employee relations topics ;
- Experience of supporting HR activities across multiple locations or countries;
- Ability to interpret policies, research local legal requirements and provide solutions;
- A proactive self-starter who has the ability to present solutions and identify areas for operational efficiencies and act on those in an effective manner;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with HRIS systems or the ability to pick up internal HR systems quickly;
- Customer focused approach with a high level of professionalism, discretion and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across the globe;
- Proficient in English communication skills both verbally and in writing,
- High level of attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, and
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
