Overview
The Construction Project Executive serves as a strategic leader for commercial construction projects, oversees project teams, the successful execution of multiple projects, and bringing in new clients.
This role involves managing new and existing client relationships, overseeing profitability, mentoring teams, and ensuring the highest standards for the company.
The ideal candidate is a construction professional with extensive experience in commercial construction, a deep understanding of the building in San Diego.
Experience working on commercial office, life science, medical, and biotech tenant improvement projects are required.
MUST HAVE CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE IN CALIFORNIA & FROM A GENERAL CONTRACTOR
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership :
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple commercial construction projects.
- Act as a leader to project management teams, manage personnel, and strategic operations.
- Lead pre-construction efforts, including budgeting, scheduling, and value engineering.
- Ensure alignment with project goals, client expectations, and company objectives.
Client Relationship Management :
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong, positive relationships.Anticipate client needs, address concerns promptly, and provide strategic solutions.Lead presentations, project updates, and progress meetings with stakeholders.Financial Oversight :
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability.Monitor financial performance, including revenue, cost management, and change orders.Collaborate with accounting teams on forecasting, billing, and collections.Team Management :
Mentor, support, and team members.Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.Lead performance evaluations and support career development.Risk Management & Compliance :
Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.Maintain and enforce safety protocols and company standards.Address conflicts, delays, and unforeseen challenges effectively.Business Development :
Partner with the business development team to secure new projects and maintain a strong pipeline.Leverage market insights to expand the company’s footprint in the Southern California region.Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).12 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Technical Skills :
Strong knowledge of construction contracts.Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6).Deep understanding of Southern California building codes, permitting processes, and market trends.Qualities of an Ideal Candidate :
