Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children. This role is essential in fostering the growth and development of young learners, particularly in early childhood education settings. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with children, parents, and staff to ensure a positive educational experience.
Duties
- Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that promote childhood development.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured environment conducive to learning.
- Engage with children during activities, providing guidance and encouragement while promoting social skills and teamwork.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to lead teachers regarding individual needs and behaviors.
- Implement behavior management strategies to address various learning styles and challenges.
- Assist with daily routines including snack time, outdoor play, and transitions between activities.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to adapt lessons for special education needs when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom space that reflects the values of our school.
Qualifications
- A background in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
- Experience in childcare or toddler care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Understanding of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Previous experience in special education is a plus but not required.
