Pay Details:
**Annual Payrate of $95,000 - $115,000**
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Emergency Department Director to join our team in Montana. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality care and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, management experience, and a commitment to leading a team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
As the Emergency Department Director, you will manage approximately 19 FTEs, collaborate closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and be directly involved in staff development, patient care protocols, and operational strategies. You will also play an essential role in managing staffing shortages and ensuring the department is well-equipped to handle emergencies around the clock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the ED team, including 19 FTEs
- Ensure the department adheres to regulatory standards and best practices in emergency care
- Monitor and improve patient flow, staff performance, and overall department performance (average case volume of 30-35 visits per day)
- Step in as needed to work in the ED during staffing shortages or other critical situations
- Collaborate with the CNO and other department heads to implement strategic initiatives and department improvements
- Manage staffing levels and schedule flexibility to accommodate day and night shifts, weekends, and on-call needs
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Emergency Room RN (required)
- Management experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
- Emergency Department leadership experience (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications:
- Montana RN Licensure (required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications (required)
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) (preferred)
Compensation:
- Competitive salary range: $95K - $115K, based on experience
- Retention bonus and relocation assistance available
Work Schedule:
- Primarily day shift with flexibility to cover night shifts and weekends during staffing shortages
- On-call availability required during staffing shortages
Additional Information:
- This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- Approximately 19 FTEs will report to this position
- No direct reports of managers or supervisors
- The position requires leadership, operational oversight, and direct patient care as needed
