For Local Candidates pay rate: $41,600.00 to $48,921.60 (BASED ON EXPERIENCE)

Position Overview:
Fall River Health Services is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and supporting a safe and clean environment in accordance with facility standards. This position requires the ability to work in a dynamic healthcare setting, under the supervision of licensed nurses, to ensure high-quality care is provided. Flexibility for night shifts, evening shifts, and holiday coverage is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, feeding, and providing personal hygiene care such as oral hygiene, pericare, and backrubs.
• Answer patient call lights and attend to basic care needs.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake as well as output, including drainage systems, as ordered.
• Provide assistance with bedpans, urinals, and commodes, ensuring patient dignity.
• Perform basic nursing tasks under the direction of licensed nurses.
• Vital Signs & Monitoring:
• Take and record vital signs, weight, and height.
• Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the RN/LPN.
• Assist with specimen collection (e.g., stool, urine, sputum).
• Treatment and Patient Safety:
• Assist in routine treatments such as warm and cold applications and support with more complex treatments as directed by RN/LPN.
• Position, lift, turn, and ambulate patients safely.
• Ensure patient rooms and work areas are clean, safe, and properly prepared for new admissions or discharges.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Collaborative Care:
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide care in the ER under RN supervision, promptly reporting any concerns or changes in patient conditions.
• Facility Standards & Policies:
• Adhere to the facility’s policies, procedures, and objectives, including safety, quality assurance, and hazardous material protocols.
• Attend required meetings, in-services, and educational programs to remain current in the field.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, with at least 1 year in a similar role.
• Certification:
• Current CNA certification in South Dakota required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred or required depending on state regulations.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Compassionate, patient-centered care approach.
• Must be adaptable and flexible to work different shifts, including nights, evenings, and holiday coverage.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Shift Hours: Nights and Evenings (12-hour shifts).
• Holiday Coverage: Required as part of the rotation.
• Contract Length: Permanent, full-time position.
• Guaranteed Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
