Job Title: Sonographer
Location: 200 Pleasant St, Des Moines, IA 50309
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days – 8 hours shift
Guaranteed Hours: 40
Pay Details:
For Local Candidates pay rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr (If your permanent address is within 50 miles from the facility)
For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50 mile radius from the facility):
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $66.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $2,640.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $34.85
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $1,394.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,246.00
OR
For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Pay Rate on 1099 to the Candidate: $72.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $2,880.00
· A minimum of 1 year of experience in Sonography, specifically working with OB/GYN cases.
· Experience in a hospital setting or within a Women’s Health and Birth Center is preferred.
· Travel experience is desirable.
· ARDMS certification in the OB/GYN discipline is required, with Fetal Echo certification strongly preferred.
· Must have experience working with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), high-risk OB/GYN, and prenatal care.
· Experience in managing gestational pregnancies, including post-birth care, is essential.
Certifications Required:
· Must have an active IA license.
· Must have ARMDS
· Required certifications include BLS(AHA)
Other Skills required:
· Performing OB/GYN Ultrasound Scans: Conducting routine and specialized ultrasound exams on pregnant women to monitor fetal development and detect abnormalities.
· Documenting and Reporting Findings: Accurately documenting scan results and providing reports to the physician for further diagnosis or treatment planning.
· Ensuring Patient Comfort and Safety: Making sure that patients are comfortable and informed throughout the ultrasound process, ensuring a safe and relaxed environment.
· Collaborating with Healthcare Providers: Working closely with obstetricians, gynecologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient conditions and ensure the best possible care.
· Monitoring Fetal Health: Observing key markers such as fetal heartbeat, growth, and amniotic fluid levels to detect any signs of distress or complications.
· Preparing Equipment: Setting up and maintaining ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning for accurate imaging.
· Providing Patient Education: Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients, answering any questions, and addressing concerns they may have regarding their pregnancy.
· Handling Emergency Situations: Assisting in high-risk situations by providing immediate, accurate ultrasound images that may be required for urgent care.
· Following Safety Protocols: Adhering to all safety standards related to ultrasound technology to ensure both the patient and practitioner are protected from potential risks.
· Continuing Education: Staying updated on the latest advancements in OB/GYN sonography and obtaining relevant certifications to enhance skills and knowledge..
