Pay Details:
For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50-mile radius from the facility):
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $21.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $756.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $15.01
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $540.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $215.00
OR
For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Pay Rate on 1099 to the Candidate: $23.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $828.00
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department (ED) Technician for a 13-week contract in Springfield, VT. This position is for 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with flexibility required for weekends and on-call duties as needed. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of current experience in an emergency department setting. Travel experience and experience in small critical access facilities are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and support in the Emergency Department, under the supervision of medical staff.
- Assist in patient assessments, including obtaining vital signs and assisting with medical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for use in emergency situations, ensuring readiness for use at all times.
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and other routine ED tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
- Work alongside nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver care to emergency patients.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care activities and update medical records as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and assist in patient stabilization under direction of medical staff.
- Provide assistance in transporting patients to and from diagnostic procedures or other care areas.
- Follow hospital protocols and procedures to ensure high standards of care and patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of current experience in an Emergency Department setting is required.
- Travel experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in a small critical access facility is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) required.
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification required.
- State License:
- Current Vermont state license is required.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong ability to assist in emergency procedures and stabilize patients.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, on-call, and adjust to changing schedules as needed.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Shift Hours: 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
- Guaranteed Hours: Full-time schedule with 36 hours guaranteed per week.
- Weekend Requirements: As needed.
- On-Call Requirements: TBD.
